| Debian Etch gnome Please tell me what I am missing. I installed a few things found under "chess" with synaptic. Now I cannot find any chess under games or anywhere else. I suppose "gnome-chess" or "3dchess" are chess games right? Edmund |

Right-click in synaptic on the package and select properties in the menu. In the pop-up dialog go to "Installed Files" and look for files in /usr/bin HTH, ---<(kaimartin)>--- -- Kai-Martin Knaak http://lilalaser.de/blog |

I recall that some of the chess programs do not show up in the menu automagically. I'm using Lenny/Gnome and when I installed eboard I ended up putting a launcher button on the panel manually. |

If you want to tell me that would be nice too. But first I need to find a good graphical chess program. I did not spent much time in it yet ( very busy ) but I only managed to get one playing by giving me the coordinates of a move. That is not what I a looking for. Unless someone shows me such a game I will try that, if not, I will look at it later. Edmund |

Try brutalchess or pouetchess, or pychess. |
