| Hi all, I wondered if its possible and desireable to upgrade to KDE 3.4? afik Sarge has KDE 3.3 at least in the copy I have. Also is there anyway to smooth the fonts to make them easier on the eye, my screen is not as pleasant to look at as when I ran winxp (same screen res and freq) Thanx S |

To get KDE 3.4, you will probably have to upgrade your system to unstable, or upgrade to testing and wait a while. -- Kill Ugly Processor Architectures - Karl Lehenbauer |

KDE 3.4.2 is in Unstable, and I think most of it is in Testing too. You certainly can upgrade, and the changes in KDE are certainly desirable, but there may be stability problems if you upgrade to Testing or mix Stable and Testing. You'll also have to wait for some of the "unofficial" KDE packages to be updated; meanwhile, the old versions of these packages probably won't work at all. > Also is there anyway to smooth the fonts to make them easier on the > eye, my screen is not as pleasant to look at as when I ran winxp > (same screen res and freq) Thanx S Look at the anti-aliasing options. (KDE Control Centre, Appearance & Themes, Fonts). PJR :-) -- alt.usenet.kooks award-winners and FAQ: <http://www.insurgent.org/~kook-faq/> |
