| It used to be possible to post such messages - via Gmane - without subscribing to the list. My reason for not subscribing is that my setup would groan if it received some 200 emails every day - most of which contain lengthy discussions on topics that are over my head. Instead, with the help of the "Pan" newsreader, I download the headers of all topics and the bodies of topics that are within my abilities. This still works. But my attempts to post follow-up messages are now bounced with the following advice: linux.debian.user is a moderated newsgroup in gateway with a mailing list. Your article has been examined by the automatic moderation program and has been refused because: this hierarchy accepts posts only from registered users. You can register for posting by subscribing to the linux-gate@lists.bofh.it mailing list. You can do so by sending a message with "subscribe" in the body at the linux-gate-request@lists.bofh.it address or by visiting http://lists.bofh.it/listinfo/linux-gate . I dutifully subscribed to "lists.bofh.it" and am now authorised to post messages to that list. But how do I post messages to "gmane.linux.debian.user"? All advice will be grateully received. -- Felix Karpfen Public Key 72FDF9DF (DH/DSA) |

Robomod@news.nic.it went crazy and started generating bounce messages to everyone who posted to the debian-user mail list. The service was temporarily disabled on Sunday, and the problem has been fixed it seems. I clearly see the message you posted you posted today to debian-user at 4:07 PM titled "Re: iscan frustration Compounded!" You're probably just seeing the old, bogus, bounce messages. Delete them and go on. |

Not sure at all. The first time it happened (some months ago), Robomod told me that my ISP's newsserver was misconfigured. My messages should never have been accepted by him. *I* saw the postings; no other subscriber to the Debian list did. Since then I have sent postings vian GMane - which worked until my last message. Then Robomod sprang back into action. > > Robomod@news.nic.it went crazy and started generating bounce messages to > everyone who posted to the debian-user mail list. And there is the answer! > > I clearly see the message you posted you posted today to debian-user at > 4:07 PM titled "Re: iscan frustration Compounded!" Good news! I saw the message too (posted twice - an error due to the new-look Pan newsreader); but as mentioned above, I did not know whether anyone else saw the message. Thank you for the advice.
