| Hi Guys, I need some help. I have a SCSI scanner that I'm only able to use as root. I can use it as regular user if I go to terminal and type (chmod o+rw /dev/sg2) . I don't want to do that every time. Can some one tell me how to set the proper permission at boot time. Your help will be appreciated. |

This permission is not set at boot time, but at login. Your regular user needs to be a member of the "scanner" group. If you are using Gnome, changing this is a matter of a few clicks. There is no need to reboot, but the user will almost certainly need to log out and then log back in for the permissions to take effect. |
