Default Assistance requested with installing VNC on UW714

I have installed vnc-3.3.1.pkg from Skunkware onto a UW714 system (MP3).

When starting the vncserver, using command "vncserver :1", I get the message
displayed "Starting applications specified in //.vnc/xstartup"

However the vncserver bombs out and the /.vnc/X.log has the following
display

rfbInitSockets: listening on TCP port 5901
httpInitSockets: listening on TCP port 5801
failed to set default font path
'/usr/lib/X11/fonts/,/usr/local/share/fonts/'
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
/usr/bin/X11/xsetroot: unable to open display 'server-name:1'

I am not able to find the font file 'fixed' anywhere on the system. Is there
another font file I could use and copy it across with the name 'fixed'
or is there a specific file I need to download from somewhere to deposit
into a font directory.

The /.vnc/xstartup, created by the 1st attempt to run vncserver, is as
follows:

#!/bin/sh

userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/usr/X/lib/X11/xinit/.Xresources
sysmodmap=/usr/X/lib/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap

# merge in defaults and keymaps

if [ -f $sysresources ]; then
xrdb -merge $sysresources
fi

if [ -f $sysmodmap ]; then
xmodmap $sysmodmap
fi

if [ -f $userresources ]; then
xrdb -merge $userresources
fi

if [ -f $usermodmap ]; then
xmodmap $usermodmap
fi

# start a fundamental set of clients

XWINHOME=/usr/bin/X11

# Use pmwm if installed

if [ -x $XWINHOME/pmwm ]
then
WM=pmwm
else
WM=twm
fi

$XWINHOME/xsetroot -solid lightslategrey &
$XWINHOME/xclock -geom 80x80-10-10 -fg yellow -bg MidnightBlue \
-hd DarkCyan -hl cyan &
$XWINHOME/xterm -geometry 80x24+20+20 -sb -ls -fn 10x20 \
-fg LightCyan -bg MidnightBlue -cr yellow \
-title 'Virtual Network Computing Desktop' &
$XWINHOME/$WM

Thanks
Dave
