Pfft! "Windows only" indeed. Works great with Linux (of course) ;-) http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...P-DeskJet_710C Hey, maybe SCO could steal the driver to cobble something together to make it work with their "products"... -- FyRE < "War: The way Americans learn geography" > |

In fact what I really need is to access the printer in text mode , so may be a simple Escape sequence in the interfaces will help me . Pablo |

Ah, so SCO are going to continue to bundle in free software to prop up their tired old product line then, despite it being "anti-American"? You'd think as such "innovators", they'd be able to come up with their own print system. Personally I can't see SCO ever releasing another OS - maybe they should provisionally entitle this new OSR5 "Myth"... -- FyRE < "War: The way Americans learn geography" > |

CUPS (the Common UNIX Printing System) is shipped with Update Pack 3 for UnixWare 7.1.3 and will be shipped in Update Pack 2 (due later this quarter) for OpenServer 5.0.7. As Ian points out, it will also be part of Legend. UnixWare 7.1.4 (the next release of UnixWare 7) is also due for release later this quarter. John |

From what I've read 5.0.6 and prior won't be able to use these updates, so we have the option of upgrade, roll our own, or switch to another OS. For OpenServer 5.0.6 you can use the existing System V LP print subsystem, build your own cups binaries using the SCO supplied sources or upgrade. John |
