| Hi All, Ive searched the archive for this but did not really find a resolution! Nice new fresh install of osr506 with the stanard sco ppp I removed sco ppp and rebooted. I then added 506a and rebooted. I then added mstppp 2.1.2 and rebooted again after the kernel relink. The dreadfull message that follows now pops up rather regularly. This is a line from syslog Dec 9 17:01:44 scosysv tunioctl(0): Unknown ioctl 0x00000005 Any ideas any kind soul to resolve this one? If it helps the netcard is a 3com905c Cheers Ang -- angiedoteohdotco.za |

It's 2.1.2a as I had tried 2,1,5a from the 507 cd with the same result befoer the server was reinstalled from square one. My one internal 506 box is what I used to test bed this and I used 2.1.5a from the 507 cd without any problems. My 506 media kit is out on loan so I've not been able to try 2.1.4a. Any other ideas? I can't even hide the messages on tty12 with cn.console=12 in a the bootstring :-( They don't seem to cause any problem! > > | The dreadfull message that follows now pops up rather regularly. > | This is a line from syslog > | Dec 9 17:01:44 scosysv tunioctl(0): Unknown ioctl 0x00000005 > > -- > JP Cheers Ang -- angiedoteohdotcodotza |

I have had better luck running the modem in full HW flow control mode, which requires the MSTPPP config lines to be editted. In my setup I used "rtscts-rtsflow" in the Account file. Its got zippo to do with dns! Its a stanalone system with 2 win98/2k dialin users. > I have had better luck running the modem in full HW flow control mode, > which requires the MSTPPP config lines to be editted. In my setup I > used "rtscts-rtsflow" in the Account file. Errors pop up in the early boot phase and everytime I run netstat -a and most times a users connect to syspro60 on port 86 for mf cobol. Utilities like netstat will use DNS to translate the the IP to a name. Does "netstat -an" work without the error coming up? It may be that you only have to config the hosts file with all the IP addresses in use, ie MSTPPP endpoints. Mike -- Michael Brown |

The entries are in the hosts file and the error does pop up if I tell netstat not to do its dns thing with -n arg If I custom remove mstppp the error goes away. Put it back with custom and its back! Any tweaks that can be done in the kernel pack.d side? Cheers Ang -- angie@eohdotcodotza |
