| I have NcFTP 3.1.4, which I downloaded from ftp2.sco.com using OSR5's ftp, but now I cannot connect to that same site using NcFTP. The message I get is: Could not read reply from control connection: Connection reset by peerSleeping 2 0 seconds... What is the ftp server as SCO doing that NcFTP doesn't understand. Is there a way to change the configuration of NcFTP so it can read the reply? The gory details: SCO OpenServer Enterprise System (5.0.6j) Release Supplement for SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.6 (ver rs506a) Software Manager Supplement (ver rs506a) Supplemental Graphics, Web and X11 Libraries (ver 1.3.2Ag) NcFTP - Internet file transfer program (ver 3.1.4) SCO OpenServer Linker and Application Development Libraries (ver 5.1.2A) Compaq Extended Feature Supplement (ver 5.34a) TIA, Edward Hooper Princess Cruises IT Department Shipboard Systems Group |

I don't think version 2.4.3 has what CPAN needs... > > So -- just what does that CPAN module need? The CPAN module needs ncftpget and ncftpput that are not included with NcFTP prior to version 3. But... I found a work around! I load but do not install NcFTP 2.4.3, then create a symbolic link between /opt/K/SKUNK98/Ncftp/2.4.3/usr/local/bin/ncftp and /usr/local/bin/ncftp-2.4.3. Now I have the best of both worlds. I'm still wondering why version 3 of NcFTP compiled for SCO OSR5 cannot connect to the SCO ftp sites. Didn't the person who complied it test it with the distribution hosts servers??? (Expiring Minds want to know!) Edward Hooper Princess Cruises IT Department Shipboard Systems Group |
