| i have run into some wierdness on several different sco6 (w/mp2) boxes since i've started installing oss706C to patch DST issues. old programs - ones that i did not compile, have no source on or anything, that worked fine before 706c, now lock up when drawing screen. must go to another screen to kill -9 them to free up session. is not random, happens every time. so far, kcv (a viewer binary that might still be on aplawrence site somewhere) and SCO foxbase/foxplus are victims. what kcv: kcv: Microsoft a.out separate pure segmented word-swapped V2.3 V3.0 386 executable what foxplus.pr: foxplus.pr: Microsoft a.out separate pure segmented word-swapped not-stripped V2.3 V3.0 386 executable MP2 was already on, so it was not that - and i had never had earlier versions of oss706, so i do not know if it is a difference between "C" and "A" or "B" (assuming they ever saw light of day). --- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --- -Joe Chasan- Magnatech Business Systems, Inc. joe@magnatechonline.com Hicksville, NY - USA http://www.MagnatechOnline.com Tel.(516) 931-4444/Fax.(516) 931-1264 |

| You don't need oss706c to change DST. Just edit /etc/TIMEZONE from TZ='PST8PDT' to TZ='PST8PDT7,M3.2.0/2:00,M11.1.0/2:00' and reboot. For what else oss706 does see ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver6/600/patches/oss706c/oss706c.ltr. FWIW I've been running oss706a w/o issue although I don't use kcv or Foxpro. --Ray Robert Joe Chasan wrote: > i have run into some wierdness on several different sco6 (w/mp2) > boxes since i've started installing oss706C to patch DST issues. > > old programs - ones that i did not compile, have no source on > or anything, that worked fine before 706c, now lock up when > drawing screen. must go to another screen to kill -9 them to > free up session. is not random, happens every time. > > so far, kcv (a viewer binary that might still be on aplawrence site > somewhere) and SCO foxbase/foxplus are victims. > > what kcv: > kcv: Microsoft a.out separate pure segmented word-swapped V2.3 V3.0 386 > executable > > what foxplus.pr: > foxplus.pr: Microsoft a.out separate pure segmented word-swapped > not-stripped V2.3 V3.0 386 executable > > MP2 was already on, so it was not that - and i had never had earlier > versions of oss706, so i do not know if it is a difference between "C" > and "A" or "B" (assuming they ever saw light of day). > > --- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --- > -Joe Chasan- Magnatech Business Systems, Inc. > joe@magnatechonline.com Hicksville, NY - USA > http://www.MagnatechOnline.com Tel.(516) 931-4444/Fax.(516) 931-1264 |

Joe, There is a bug in the xenix emulator in OSS706C that is causing the hang. We are working on a fix. Regards, John |
