After installing Maintenance Pack 5 for Openserver 5.0.7,
I can successfully configure a remote printer through
the SCOadmin Printer Manager and print to this device.
However, this printer does not show up when running the
command lpstat or when I later go back into the printer
manager.

Do you use CUPS? If not, and you did not specifically exclude CUPS from
the MP5 update, it is now installed.

See TA 125723 on the SCO web site for how to remove it if you want
'pure' Sys5 spooling.
