| : I have been using Microlite BackupEDGE for a few months now with some : difficulty. : : My newest problem is that the program crashes my server (SCO OpenServer : V5.0.5) when I try to perform a backup. : : This can be either a network backup or a tape backup. Either function : causes the server to sit for a minute and then display an error similar : to the following: : -----Begin-quote----------------------------------------------- : : PANIC: lock timeout : : Cannot dump 524187 pages to dumpdex hd (1/41): Space for only 196608 : pages : : Dump not completed : : -----End-quote------------------------------------------------ : : Then, I am prompted to press any key to reboot by the system. : : I can access the tape drive from a command line, so I am not really : sure how to proceed. : : Any ideas out there? : : Thanks, : Dale : According to my support department, we opened trouble ticket 8554 on this, and asked some questions about performing a test, but they went unanswered. Please follow up with support@microlite.com so that they can finish helping you. You may want to update to the latest BackupEDGE release (02.01.05 build 2) before doing so. I'm not what caused the panic, but when it did panic, it looks like you've added RAM and now your memory size exceeds the size of the swap/dump partition, so there is no place for the panic to dump memory and it gives up.
