Unless you try to access the device node for the non-existent drive, no harm will come from having it defined. So take it out of /etc/fstab and don't worry about it. -- Tony Lawrence |

My query came after I had added the external USB hard drive, created files systems on it, then later attached an external USB CD/DVD+RW drive to the bus. The CD/DVD got assigned the ID the hard drive had originally so the drive became inaccessable. I decided then to remove the hard drive and reinstall it only to find that I didn't know how to remove the dang thing. It was only later that I found out I could have fixed the situation easily via a tweak to the ID values in mscsi. Live and learn. DDinAZ |
