Question VDs are not showing under 'Disk Config Utility' in SCO OS

In SCO Openserver6/Unixware7.1.4 OS, VDs created by using "LSI MegaRAID" utility are not showing in 'Disk Config Utility'. After rebooting the system VDs showing under 'Disk Config Utility'. so whenever we create any VD there is a need to reboot the system.

In Solaris also same problem persisits, but issuing "devfsadm" command will update kernel data structures so that we can see new VD's created through RAID utility.

PS:
VDs - virtual disks

In case of RAID we will treat a disk group as VD but the same VD will be exposed as a Physical disk to OS.
