The beagle stuff in gnome would require mono, and the whole search infrastructure of kde is slated for KDE4, which means we have pieces that build, like strigi, but nothing really finished for now (especially since kde pim is actually slated for 4.1). You have raw search engines like lucene and clucene in the ports tree, no idea what kind of indexing you'll get out of them. If you can live with old-style text commands, and you mainly need to search through text documents, glimpse is a nice possibility (also available in the ports treee). |
