| In reading the boot instructions for the HPPA, I see the section for creating a boot tape, but I'd prefer to create a boot cdrom. Is this an EL-Torito style boot cd with the LIF file stuck into the boot section on the cd or does one simply attempt to BURN an iso image of a .tar file with the LIF file as the first file in the archive? I have an HP9000 712/60 (if it matters). Cheers, R |

Is this an It's easy to create a boot CD from a running hppa/openbsd machine, don't know about creating it on another architecture, though. Create file.iso (I usually use mkhybrid) then do this: dd if=/usr/mdec/cdboot of=${ISODIR}/file.iso bs=32k count=1 conv=notrunc vnconfig -v -c svnd0 ${ISODIR}/file.iso disklabel -w svnd0 fakecdrom "CD-ROM OpenBSD" vnconfig -u svnd0 dd if=/dev/zero bs=64k count=1 >> ${ISODIR}/file.iso I'm not 100% sure that the disklabel is needed, but at least it doesn't seem to hurt. // marc |
