Default Installation problems on Intel D201GLY2

Hi!

I've tried to install OpenBSD 4.3 on a pc but unfortunately was not able
to boot neither the i386 nor the amd64 install43 CD.
The PC is a Intel D201GLY2
(http://www.intel.com/products/mother...GLY2/index.htm) mainboard
(Celeron 220 @ 1.2 ghz) with a CDROM and a 10GB (western digital) hd on
the IDE-port. Furthermore there is a SATA-harddisk (samsung 500GB)
connected on the first SATA-port and a IDE-controller (Sil 0680) plugged
into the PCI port (with a western digital 250GB harddisk).

After some attempts to install OpenBSD I was able to successfully
install Debian Etch and run "lspci -vv" on it. The output of this can be
found below to get some more information about the system. The FreeBSD
7.0 cdrom is also able to boot this machine, but I've not tried to
install it on the system.

My question is: Is there a possibility to install OpenBSD on this
machine? If yes how can I do this?

I would be glad if someone could please help me.

Best regards,
Christoph

Here are the things I've tried:

*) When booting the i386 CD (after pressing the reset-button) I get the
message:

CD-ROM: 90
Loading /4.3/AMD64/CDBOOT
probing: pc0 mem[639K 944M 11M 532K a20=on]
disk: hd0+* hd1+

(then the screen gets cleared and the following occours

trap: 0(0): invalid opcode fault
cn_tab=0x4ae40
eax 4a023 ecx 1 edx 4a023 ebx 0
esp ff58 ebp 0 esi 0 edi 0
eip 3 eflags 10007 cs 8 ss 10
ds 10 es 10 fs 10 gs 10
Code dump [0x3]:

*) When booting the amd64 CD after pushing the reset-button, I get a
freeze at

CD-ROM: 90
Loading /4.3/AMD64/CDBOOT
probing: pc0 mem[639K 944M 11M 532K a20=on]
disk: hd0+* hd1+

with the cursor after the last '+'

*) When booting the i386 CD or the amd64 CD after power off, the problem
above doesn't occour and the disk-line says:
disk: hd0+* hd1+* hd2* cd0
and starts booting. After a few seconds it hangs with the line
(typewritten, because I've no null-modem-cable):

Please note that it makes no difference if I plug out the PCI-card
(IDE-controller).
I found a pointer to
http://archives.neohapsis.com/archiv...1-12/1351.html which
helps to avoid the error, but disabling pciide means no harddisks at all.

*) I have successfully installed Debian Etch on this machine and the
output of lspci -vv is:

Since it appears nobody has a solution for you, and, frankly, I don't
really know much$ about hardware, two random ideas:

- any permutation of 'disable acpi' and 'disable apm'. acpi was enabled
by default in 4.3, so that might cause problems. (Use boot -c).
- try again at misc@openbsd.org. There is, at least, a larger audience
there.

Sorry!
