| I am currently installing kde from the ports collection on OpenBSD 3.5. I did a make install about 14 hours ago. The install is still running. I have a T1 connection. The system is constantly going to different FTP sites downloading files. When it tries to download a file it always tries EPSV. I always get the same error "EPSV Command not understood". The download hangs and then eventually resumes as it must fall back to a different mode. Does anyone know where I can disable EPSV? Should I disable it? Is it normal that it takes 14 hours to install kde? Thank you in advance. |

| Comes as no surprise. Took me more than that On a P3 1Ghz machine on a cable connection.. KDE is massive, and has another 500 million dependencies to resolve/install. How fast is your Processor? | I ran out of diskspace when making kde. Can anybody give me a hint as to how much diskspace would be recommended for the ports directory tree? Fred wrote: > Comes as no surprise. I bought one and installed kde from cd within less than 30 secs. |

Well, it was enough, but I had to temporarily move the src tree and a ton of other crap over to /home make room during the build process :\ Last time I had used KDE (about 4 years ago or so) it wasn't nearly this huge and bloated.. Prolly would run like crap on my OpenBSD box anyhow. > Fred wrote: > > Comes as no surprise. Took me more than that On a P3 1Ghz > > machine on a cable connection..
