| I'm looking for a server with hardware raid 1. I was thinking about the dell poweredge 1750. Does anyone have any experience with these and openbsd? Mainly I'm looking for a machine that I'm not going to have to battle driver issues because of the raid controller. Thanks. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Later Proliants, ie PII 450 upwards work well, earlier models may need 3.4 to avoid lockups with the smartarray controllers. |

AVOID at any cost a raid controller from Dell, especialy the PERC 3/DCL controller. I suggest buy a ADAPTEC 3210S card (`flawless`) iop0 at pci1 dev 2 function 1 "DPT SmartRAID (I2O)" rev 0x01: I2O adapter -- -[ ViPER - viper@dmrt.net -[ http://www.dmrt.net -[ http://www.securitydatabase.net -[ Objects in mirror no longer matter. |
