| Hi All, I work for a very small company. We had a consultant set up a mysql database on OpenBSD3.2 last year. We have since moved and have a new internet provider, who made changes to our router. Since that time we cannot access the database. We think it may have been set up on a different server as a raid array. However, we cannot boot that server. The error message we get when trying to access the database is something about a socket not being found. The openbsd machine was also a web server and firewall, neither of which is used anymore. My questions: Is it possible to create a boot CD of openbsd to try to recover the data from the database? Is it possible the server with the database tries to boot over the network from the other bsd machine, but the router changes made that impossible? If the database is on a raid array, is it feasible: a) that the server has no operating system? or b) that we could connect it to some other machine (I don't know how) to recover the data? or c) that we could pull the hard drives and put them in either a windows or unix machine and have them recognized? I appreciate any help. If I need to provide any more info, please let me know. Tom Martau |

Searching www.openbsd.org may get you in contact with someone that can help you. > Tom Martau -- Peter Håkanson IPSec Sverige ( At Gothenburg Riverside ) Sorry about my e-mail address, but i'm trying to keep spam out, remove "icke-reklam" if you feel for mailing me.
