| Hello. What is the cheapest hardware raid 1 mirroring solution for OpenBSD? The 3ware 7006-2 looks like a perfect card. But OpenBSD doesn't appear to support it. Or is perhaps the docs out of date? The FreeBSD version of the 3ware driver does support the current offerings. Or are the OpenBSD drivers behind the other BSD flavors? I heard of some place which makes a little inline unit offering raid 1. But it looks just like a regular single disk drive, even to the motherboard. Kinda expensive though at near $300. That 3ware card is only $120. The Adaptec solution is also too expensive. The lower end (but still true hardware raid 1) Promise controller does not appear to be supported either. Thanks! |

The FreeBSD version of the There is no 3Ware support, but the kernel has 3Ware drivers. We have 5 server with 3Ware 6200 controller (mirror) all working perfekt. Problem: No alerting because 3Ware 3dmd is only working on Windows / Linux. We phone the 3Ware support (germany) at least 2 times a week, because someone said that there will be 3dmd support for openbsd (freebsd emu). Till now there is only a freebsd cli with should work with the freebsd emu. Not testet till now by us. Peter |
