Recently had a similar experience. I was attempting to use lpr to print to a network printer that supported lpd. Got it sorta working for text files (some of the file would get printed), then I decided to try CUPS and work backwards from there to fix lpr. Setting up CUPS was just too easy: click, click, done. So I've stuck with that. |
