| Hi, the patch[2] attached to the X.org bug #1109 [1], originally from FreeBSD, fixes all my problems I had with my laptop since 3.6-current times when XF86 was updated then. (I solved this in the meantime by using the ati.2 stuff from gatos.sf.net.) From the looks of it, this patch is also in X.org HEAD now and will be part of the 6.8.3 release eventually. That's why this is mostly a FYI for everyone with the same issues, since the fix will probably come with the next X update anyways. The patch applies cleanly to our XF4 tree and making a release with it works just fine (on i386.) Seeing this in 3.8 would be extremely cool, but I'm not holding my breath. :-) Moritz [1]: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1109 [2]: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=2446 |
