I have a 7026-6H1. It was running AIX 5.2 up to today morning. I wanted
to re-install the machine with AIX 5.3 via NIM. I entered the sms menu
and set the oprtions to boot from network. All worked fine, tftp
dowload started. After a while the console showed
DEFAULT CATCH!, code=fff00700 at %SRR0: 000001ec %SRR1: 00081000
ofdbg
I resetted the machine but the machine still boots up to
DEFAULT CATCH!, code=fff00700 at %SRR0: 000001ec %SRR1: 00081000
ofdbg
Operator Panel shows E443
Last Code on console is 9116

Has anyone out there an idea?

E443 may suggest your firmware is not at latest.

You may need to upgrade firmware to latest, via either AIX or floppy disk.

Latest 6H1 firmware is: CM050203

(You can check firmware version from SMS menu, display option.)

If you do not have that, you can get it from:

http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/.../download.html

You must have at least version CM040712 to install AIX 5.3.

Hi Dan,

thnaks for the help. This was my first idea, too. What made me nervous
was that the sms menu didn't show up at all. After updating the SP the
sms came back. I do not know what the installation of 5.3 does to the
system preventing it from showing the sms menu.
