address based routing

Hi,

I have set up a virtusertable for sendmail and it does work. (Local mail is
kept local and not forwarded (only to be returned)). However it presents
two new problems with it.

Firstly, every mail sent from domain.com, the from address gets appended
with unit.domain.com. Regardless of which business unit they are from.
(There are some seventy different units, this mail server only manages one
of them...)

Secondly, If I send a mail to another business unit, in the form of
@domain.com the server replies with a 550 user unknown. (The main server
uses an alias table to direct usernames to business units mail servers) I do
have a catch-all entry in the table @domain.com %1@domain.com

How can I configure sendmail to only check every @domain.com recipient with
the virtusertable, if it matches, deliver it locally. If not continue as
usual and pass it on to the main server.

Any help appreciated.
