I believe it does, for both. I've only done 5.1 on the F50 myself, but I
know I've heard there are versions of Linux that works on the CHRP boxes
like the F50. YellowDog Linux, Gentoo, etc.

F50 supports 5.1, 5.2 and I believe 5.3

Yes, it works with both. I tested AIX 5.1 and Debian 3.0
To install Linux however you need to netboot the machine (the kernel is
too big for a floppy)

Why can't you boot it off CD?
