| Hiho- Just installed a 7210 025 DVD writer on our old 7026 B80. It came up easily so I tried an mkcd which seemed to work until the system (AIX 52-004) complained that some files required for the creation of the cd or dvd image were not available on the source system but could be found in the specified filesets. One of these filesets was devices.pci.77101223.rte.5.2.0.50.bff which I downloaded but couldn't install as the system claimed the prereq, base fileset (devices.pci.77101223.rte..5.2.0.0), was missing. I couldn't find this file set on my 5.2 CD release so I went back to the IBM download site which didn't have it either. Where am I going wrong? Also, is there a way to skinny down the mksysb image? thanks, Bill |

| hi, if you can't find devices.pci.77101223.rte..5.2.0.0 you can download devices.pci.77101223.rte..5.2.0.40 and see the preview of the install, I think there shouldn't be any problem because you are already in 52-004. then you can upgrade it to devices.pci.77101223.rte..5.2.0.50. to make the mksysb skinny you can use /etc/exclude.rootvg. in this file specify the file systems that are in rootvg that you don't want in mksysb image. hope this helps regards, Selvan |
