| Is there any way to make AIX 5.3's built in imapd to use multiple processors? I notice on my 4-way 270, imapd pegs out one processor while it's doing things, and the other processors sit there idle. For most things it's not so bad, but during things like a search for a particular mail, it's quite annoying, especially when I know it could be faster! When compiling my own applications (like apache2, and php5) performance is considerably better when I add the -qsmp flag during compilation. Since I have no access to aix source code, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to make imapd use all the processors. Optionsfile somewhere, something to add to inetd.conf perhaps? Thanks for any help. Ken |
