| No, the Itanium kernel got pulled before release due to issues. like stated above AIX 1.3 would run on ps/2 and AIX 2.# would run on RT boxes .. but back then it was a very different beast. Anything above AIX 3.# runs only on PowerPC .. You can get a cheap one on eBay (Probably). PearPC Emulator may be an option, they were testing AIX 433 at one point .. not too sure how far they got though... http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/ HTH Mark Taylor |

I've got a 43p Model 260 that runs AIX5.2 quite nicely, though it is unsupported. It makes a great test box, though. If you want something newer, look at the p5 510; the IBM list price starts at less than $5K (US), so with discounts it would be less. And that is a POWER5 CPU. |
