| /usr/lib/methods/showled 0x123 "hello!" The hex number is required, but doesn't seem to care what value, so long as it's there. Text can be up to 15 digits. This works on my 9112-265 and on the F50, but on the pSeries 5xx, the text seems to disappear (although the number is displayed). aro |

It was useful when we had dozens of B50s in a lab, could telnet to it, but wanted a fast way to identify it without looking at all the serial number labels. So I ran a while loop that alternated between 111 222 333 ... 999 once a second. We found that B50 very quickly because it was easy to visually see. -Dan |
