Determine Storage Technology Type

Is there a simple OS command on AIX to determine what type of storage
technology is being used. For example, I want to know if the system is
using FastT, Hitachi, SSA, or Shark. I don't want to rely on the
device name to determine storage type.

You can use command:
lsdev -Cc disk
to list the disk type.

Also try:

lscfg -vl <disk name>

for additional information
