Default disable the CDE in favour of text on the console.


Hi,

Is it possible to disable the CDE and instead just use the
test based interface?

Hallo Jeff,

This question has been asked (and answered !) quite often in this group...
Use
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d
to disable CDE as default console, then
# kill $(cat /var/dt/Xpid)

Should you prefer smit try
# smitty dtconfig

There's also a smit menu item in Processes and Environments that
allows you to select the system interface to be used at boot time.
