| I'm looking for a way to display the system time on a device that can be used in an office atmosphere. The location is an uncontrolled office environment not near the computer room so I don't want to use an unattended telnet session with the cde clock. Is there a way (or device) to display the time so my users can use it as a clock? |

Is there a way (or gd> device) to display the time so my users can use it as a clock? You could use the network time protocol (NTP). The daemon on AIX is xntpd. You'll find lots of documentation at http://www.ntp.org/. You don't have to have an unattended telnet sessnion, you can have a PC running X, export the display from the RS/6000 and then run xclock. Steve |
