| Hi member, I am new in AIX and would like to know does the HP Surestore DAT24e tape drive work in AIX. The tape drive is working in NT. It is because I want to set up a tape drive for my AIX box. However, it does not work. I have upgrade the firmware into the latest version. I have the following info for all of you. #lsdev -Cc tape rmt0 Available 10-80-00-4,0 Other SCSI Tape Drive #tar -cvf /dev/rmt0 tar: /dev/rmt0: A system call received a parameter that is not valid. #mksysb -i /dev/rmt0 0512-017 mksysb: Cannot write to the device /dev/rmt0. Either write protect or in use. Please advice. -- Posted via http://dbforums.com |

The settings AIX likes are different from the factory default and probably also from the Windoze settings. RTFM for details. |
