| I'm exploring moving a token-ring adapter from an H70 to a linux box and consequently moving our mainframe printing from the H70 to the linux box. Are there drivers for the token-ring adapter and support from IBM to do this? Mike |

But those who may have a better answer may need to know more about the adapter, mfgr, model etc. and also version of linux you are migrating the functions to. The following link may also help you http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/...ing/index.html |

I doubt if a IBM RS/6000 token ring adapter will work in non RS/6000 hardware and I doubt if they will provide the driver to enable it to work. Why not just buy a token ring adapter that works with the flavour of Linux you are using ? Steve |

The answer was something about: If you are very lucky yes else no even its the same model. IBM does something with the ROM and other things. One thing to distinguish is the price for one and the same thing. 350 to 20 bucks. But IBM PCI Tokenring adapters are very cheap at ebay, cause no one needs them any more. So i saves your nerve and money to your boss to buy x86 hardware. alaav, kimi -- @-----------------------------------@ | Michael Kindermann | | Wuerzburg/Germany | | kimi@wildewear.de | @-----------------------------------@ |
