Default Error code 552

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your responses for the previous question.

There is a new problem, We are using AIX 5.1 P650 Microcode level
3.8.(6228)

with EMC Symmetrix DMX 2000, We created new Symms at and try to boot
it from the new volumes, it can see the new volumes but it is not
booting, from the new volume, we get an Error Code 552.

We tried to boot it using altdisk but no luck the same error code.

We have upgraded the ODM(5.1.0) and the OS patchlevel as per EMC
recommendations, and also the HBA Firmware also.

If any body have a similar situation and can help with this. Please
respond.

Thanks in advance

Chris

What is the firmware on th p650 itself ? The only firmware you are
quoting is for the 6228 Gigbit fibre card. What disks are you booting
from ? What do you mean you are trying to boot from new volumes ? How
did you put the OS on these new volumes ?

Firmware Level: 390X3 - this is NOT at latest recommended IBM 6227
firmware 330X1 or IBM 6228 firmware 391A1 or IBM 6239 firmware 181X1
from the EMC Grab

What disks are you booting from ?
We are booting from a Symmetrix DMX 2000 volume which is new R1 R2
type of migration using SRDF.

What do you mean you are trying to boot from new volumes ? How
> did you put the OS on these new volumes ?

Through altdiskinstall.

Again you are only quoting adapter firmware levels. Run "lscfg -vp |
grep -p Platfrom"

Can you see these new disks as bootable devices using the SMS menus at
bootup time ?
