| Hi all, I'm trying to get to the bottom of curious behaviour exhibited by Internet Explorer 5 (5.5 actually) when using it to list files via FTP to our AIX boxes. When ftp'ing to our AIX 4.3.3 boxes the display is normally OK. However, when ftp'ing to our AIX 5.2 boxes the display prefixes the directory or file name with the directory or file access time. Thus a file called "smit.log" might appear as "11:04 smit.log". Obviously this causes problems if you double click on a directory for example to cd to that directory, as IE passes back the file name plus time and the AIX box doesn't recognise it. Similarly, the "Modified" column in the IE display shows a constant "01/01/1980 12:00". Obviously this behaviour is connected to the way the ls -l command displays date and times. However, although I can change the behaviour of ls -l by changing the value of environment variables (LANG or LC_TIME for example) I cannot get the ftp behaviour to change no matter what I do. Any thoughts anyone? Many thanks. Tim Kearsley HBS Milton Keynes |
