Default Good console concentrator solutions

We are consolidating 3 pseries servers into a standard 19" pseries
rack. We have an onsight admin so there is no hard need for out of
band management though it would be nice. Two of the servers have no
graphics cards and connect to ibm 3153 consoles today, the other has a
VGA monitor/Keyboard and mouse though it does have a serial 1 / 2
ports.

Is there a lcd kvm solution which we could use for all three servers
in the rack?

What is a "lcd kvm solution"?

If all machines are functioning and on a network, you can manage
them via telnet (or something more secure?) from anywhere with a
telnet client on the same network.

You can have an rs232 (db25/db9 with appropriate cables) ABCD
switch to selectively connect to all 3 machines from the 3153.

You can also have X windows running on all three machines (even
if there is no monitor card), and connect from the VGA card box
to the others via xterm (or whatever).

We use Avocent ACS & TS series terminal servers for both our AIX &
Solaris machines(They used to be Cyclades but I believe Avocent bought
Cyclades). They are easy to setup and are basically a solid state
linux box using Hard Hat Linux. We have 1 ACS and 2 TS series. We
have not had a problem with them yet. The only thing you need to
remember is the OS is stored in flash memory area, so, when you make
any kind of change, you need to make sure you save the configuration
before you boot.

you could get a lantronix (or any other brand you like) console server and
hook a serial terminal up to that and run your machines from there.

It's networkable so you can always ssh into the console server and connect
to your hosts.
