| Hello everyone, I have a question about the above. Does HACMP need snmpd? I know it sort of does, clsmuxpd uses it to make info available to 'external' monitors, but is it necessary? The problem. We have a two node HA cluster running, amongst other things, Oracle. Oracle has its own snmp daemon, they claim it handles a large number of 'requests' better than the AIX version, the trouble is when we run both together, the Oracle listener eventually hangs stopping access to Oracle. On reporting the problem to Oracle they recommended we stop the AIX daemon, so we commented out the entry in rc.tcpip, however HACMP starts it and we eventually get the listener hang (unless we stop the snmp daemon). What I would like to know is can I safely switch of snmpd thus preventing clsmuxpd from starting (I think that's what will happen). Or is there a way I can make either AIX use the Oracle supplied daemon, I suspect not, or make Oracle use the AIX daemon. Thanks in advance for any advice. Do you by any chance know how to stop it starting or should I do some sort of script to stop it after HA starts?
