Default How to activate console

I have /dev/lft0 defined . If I have the monitor, mouse and keyboard connected before I bootup, I can use it. If for any reason I disconnect the monitor and reconnect it, I cannot use it. So my question is:

How do I reactivate the /dev/lft0 and maybe the keyboard and mouse again without rebooting?

This is on 43P 140 running AIX 4.3.3

Any help will be appreciated.

Ray
