| Hi all, I am trying to install AIX 5.1 on RS 6000 (43P model 150). I have 5 CDs and machine and i do not know anything about AIX and RS 6000. i do not know if RS 6000 supports booting from CDs and if those CDs are botable. Is there any one having experience in this field? Can someone direct me to usefull resources for person like me who is begineer? regards, Jagdip |

Do you have a service key? If it is running, as root enter 'bootlist -m normal cd0 hdisk0' and reboot. If you have the key switch to service mode and reboot. Either way, put the cdrom in the drive and follow the prompts. |

(assuming you have a graphics card, keyboard and monitor, of course) |
