Hi Folks,
I have a little problem. I need to install another browser than
netscape to
ensure better usability. I try mozilla 1.4, but it's so slow that
nobody
can work on it.
Now I will try to use the new Mozilla 1.7 RC1.
I downloaded the binary from mozilla.org and installed the
dependencies.
But on starting mozilla I get an error-message:

nsNativeComponentLoader: GetFactory(libgfx_gtk.so) Load FAILED with
error: A File or Directory of the pathname is not available

Could anybody help?

Or can you recommend another browser?

I have the same question but I have a 7248-100, even slower.

Yeah, Mozilla is a "monster" now, or at least, a hog.
I have the IBM-compiled Mozilla 1.6, and it's not too bad on a 7028-6E1.
/usr/netscape/base/components/libgfx_gtk.so is part of the Netscape.base.rte
fileset.

Lynx is the fastest of all...;-)

I now have found a solution.

1. Install the Mozilla 1.4 from www.ibm.org and copy the libXp.a to a save
location, then deinstall mozilla 1.4
2. Now install the dependencies for Mozilla 1.7 RC1
3. Download the Package for Mozilla 1.7 RC1 from www.mozilla.org
4. gunzip and untar the archive
5. copy the libXp.a to the unpacked mozilla-directory
6. Now start Mozilla and everthing will going well.
