| i hve come across a rs 600 (model 150) and i am in a need of assistance. I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to unix ie. i haven't got a clue. This unix server i have been donated from a company gone bust doesn't have a graphics card in it so i cant connect a monitor to it: Q1. How do i get to see what is happening on the screen without purchasing a card? Is it possible? I have tried connecting it to my xp pro machine using the com ports and using hyperterminal but i dont really know what i'm supposed to do. Q2. Can anyone help me? i'm young and helpless. a reasonably solid explanation of how to get a visual of what the computer is doing would be great. Q3. i am only 16 and i like CAD and web development. Therefore can anyone tell me what uses i may have with this machine? Please please help me (i already tried writing to jim will fix it but no response) If i get some good hel i will be willing to send you an invite to get a gmail account. Or i can give you some webspace, i have a large resellers account. Thanks Alot Lee lee.boyce@gmail.com |

| OK, Lee, either you are a spammer looking for email addresses or bit of simple minded. But, I'll give you a chance. You don't need to change any setting of hypertrm. Just connect to the port and swith on the 150. > > Q2. You could use the box running AIX for educational and testing because it's rather old and not really fast. But just to run it for a simple web server and learning how AIX works it will do fine. But this will place you in need of a AIX license. Usually the license is connected to the machine and maybe the company that donated it to you have left it to you. Otherwise you could run linux on it but I have not tried this yet. The CAD thing is a little strange for me. I liked things oither then CAD when I was 16 ?!? > > Please please help me (i already tried writing to jim will fix it but > no response) Who the hell is Jim? > > If i get some good hel i will be willing to send you an invite to get > a gmail account. Otherwise things have dramatically changed since I was online last night. Patrick |
