Default I/O error detected by lvm with relation to raid array

Hi,
i am wondering if the error log "I/O error detected by lvm" can appeare
independently from "invalid data stipe" error of raid 5 array, or those
both errors are related.
i mean that when I see the errpt log about the lvm this indicates the
raid problem or the problem can be different. could anybody give my
some feedback about it ?
thanks

Default Re: I/O error detected by lvm with relation to raid array

If you're using a raid5 card connecting to an internal backplane of the
server, then I guess it might be true. You have to run consistency
check for all raid 5 volume affected. To do this, type smitty pdam and
choose Run consistency check and repair. This might slow data access to
raid volumes. It will be back to normal once the checking completes.

Rgds
