Which Oracle version? -- Jurjen Oskam |

You need to download an AIX 5, 64-bit version of the Oracle 8 kernel extension from Oracle. Search Metalink for exact details. -- Jurjen Oskam |

You *can* run 32-bit Oracle 8 on a 64-bit AIX 5. Oracle has made a kernel extension available that will work with the 64-bit AIX 5 kernel. Oracle 8 32 bit then runs just fine. -- Jurjen Oskam |

It's good practice to only upgrade something when you have to. > I learn something every day! > Jonathan. |
