Not directly, but I believe the EMC provided path control module
(PCM) only support fail over. Check with EMC...

Don't take it as 100% true from me, but from what
I know the PowePath option is only to provide multipath
feature in AIX 4.3.3 (and maybe older).
Please read the "Release Notes" for AIX 5.2 to know
limitations and/or new features for multi-path.

AIX Muti-Path I/O only supports SCSI attached SANs at this time.
PowerPath supports Fiber attached SANs. That's how I understand it
anyway.

MPIO works fine with EMC arrays.
We have been using if for almost a year now. Your disk at first will be seen as
"Other MPIO FC Disk", but you can get drivers from EMC that will cause them
to be recognized as EMC FC disk, and it will set the proper default queue depth.

I think it's only for symmetrix (right?).
We tried to make this working on Clariion CX600 without result.
It's not supported yet either.

Geert

That may be true, as we are using the symmetrix type and set to use point to point instead of fabric

No there is a power path version for 5.2, power path can spread the load
between interfaces (rather MPIO that only provides fail over).
