hello newsgroup!
? i have a new 18 gig scsi disk for my
test 43p 140 machine, and get this attached error
in trying to move it into a vg.
any tip?
in lsvp its listed with a number.
version aix5.1

STATUS Befehl: gescheitert stdout: ja stderr: nein Vor Abschluß des Befehls
können unten zusätzliche Anweisungen erscheinen. 0516-1162 extendvg:
Achtung: Die Größe der physischen Partition von 16 erfordert die Erstellung
von 1093 Partitionen für hdisk2. Die Begrenzung für Datenträgergruppe
berndvg liegt bei 1016 physische Partitionen je physischem Datenträger. Über
den Befehl chvg mit der Option -t versuchen, die maximale Anzahl der
physischen Partitionen je physischem Datenträger für diese Datenträgergruppe
zu ändern. 0516-792 extendvg: Erweitern der Datenträgergruppe nicht möglich.

The max number of pps defined for the vg is 1016. You need 1093 to address
the full 18GB of your new drive. Either change the max number of pps using
chvg, or leave it and loose about 1.2GB of storage on that new disk.

hmm as i see i can not leave it as it is, cause after error appears i have
no chance to go further only to cancel.

so i will perhaps check the other option you told me and inserted in the
advice with the command,

i will keep you up to date with my experiences,
