| Hi, I am new in AIX. I am trying to setup a few old servers with 4.3.3, model 250 and C10 by using NIM. I have setup the NIM in the server at 43p. My question is: (1) Do I need to know the MAC address of the clients (250 and C10)? (2) I follow the manual to start the client, switch the key to secure, wait until LCD shown 200, change to service mode, press reset. After a while, LCD shown 262, but nothing on the ASCII console screen. What else should I set? I know NIM is in the marketing for years, hope someone can still guide me on this. Thanks. |

If you are doing a NIM and not a NIMADM, then you'll need the hardware address so that bootp works right. Get the hardware address while in service mode by going to the remote IPL menu. |
