| Hopefully someone has seen this before: Brand new pSeries 615, working well with no errors in the error log except for the start up and shutdown ones. Every so often (too soon to tell how regular it is), a message comes up on the console: -------- Periodic diagnostics has detected a problem with <space, might be newline> proc1 Your Service Request Number is .. <just a period> -------- The system seems fine but with something that sounds so serious but has a broken message I am not whether to get excited/worried. The only thing that does look odd is that this is a single processor system but has no proc0, only a proc1. Of course that might be right for 615s. Any ideas or thoughts gratefully received. This system is a bit new for me, but just a thought, could your system maybe of have been supplied with a 2-way processor but have the first processor disabled. This may show the only proc enabled as proc1. Check the part number in the VPD of the processor, probably find under sysplanar listing (lscfg -vpl sysplanar0), if the pn is either: 00P4958, 80P2408 or 80P3108, then you have a 1-way proc installed, any other part number then you have a 2-way installed. |
