Default Problem creating VGs on Hitachi SAN disk.

Hi All,

I am trying to create a VG on Hitachi SAN disk ( 9950 ) using HDLM for
Multipathing. I am able to see the dlm device created for the disks.
However when i try to create a VG, I encounter the following error.

0516-1182 mkvg Open Failure on dlmfdrv10.
0516-862 mkvg: Unable to create volume group.
0516-1182 mkvg Open Failure on dlmfdrv11.
0516-862 mkvg: Unable to create volume group.
0516-1182 mkvg Open Failure on dlmfdrv12.
0516-862 mkvg: Unable to create volume group.

These are brand new formatted LUNS ( not assgined ot any host before)

Anyone faced this kinda problem before. Please suugest, your help on
this would be highly appreciated.

Regards,
kishore.

Hi Kishore.
We run Aix 5.2 and 5.3 with Hitachi SAN (9980 + USP)
I know for sure that there is an odm update to aix 5.2 and above.
If this update is not install on your aix, the installation& operation
of hdlm software
might cause some problems.
I think it worth asking Hitachi....
