| Hi All, we have problems with some of our queues we have setup as JetDirect Queues. In /etc/qconfig they are configured like: d260: device = hp@d260 hp@d260: file = /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local/dev/hp@d260#hpJetDirect#9100 header = never trailer = never access = both backend = /usr/lib/lpd/pio/etc/piojetd d260 9100 The Problem we have is that from time to time the printers are losing some packets of network traffic (we testet that with ping and get some percent of losses). So if the problem occures when the queue is just printing or sending a job to the printer, the queue stay's in state "RUNNING" or "SENDING" forever. The only way to get out of that state is to cancel the job, disable the queue and enable it again. For other queues we have installed as "/usr/lib/lpd/rembak" remote queues we don't have theses problems. I think the reason is that here we can give a timeoute value for the queue (-T) after that the printer is automatically forced into the "DOWN" state. Printers in "DOWN" state are regularly enabled by a script. My Question now is if anybody has expierienced similar problems or if anybody has an idea how to solve the problem??? TIA Axel |
